Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account info. When you sign up, we receive your email and name from your sign-in provider. You also choose a unique handle.
• Content you create. Entries (social handles, usernames, contact info), cards and their visual settings, sharing preferences, and saved cards. This is all data you actively provide.
• Abuse prevention. We may collect limited technical data, such as IP addresses, to prevent spam and enforce our terms.
• Anonymized analytics. We use a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not collect personal information, and cannot identify individual users. It tells us things like how many people visited a page, not who they are.
• Feedback. If you use our feedback form, we collect your name, email, and message.

We only collect what's listed above. We don't use tracking cookies or third-party advertising. We don't store passwords. Authentication is handled entirely through your sign-in provider.

How we use your data

• To run hewwo by displaying your cards, managing friends, and syncing your settings.
• To authenticate you via your sign-in provider.
• To protect the service by enforcing our terms, preventing abuse, and responding to reports.
• To communicate with you about updates, new features, or important changes to the service. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time.
• To improve the service using aggregated, anonymized analytics.
• To respond to you if you send us feedback.

We do not sell your data. We do not show you ads.

Third-party services and cookies

We rely on a small number of third-party providers for hosting, authentication, database infrastructure, analytics, and email delivery. We do not use advertising networks, data brokers, or any services that track you across the web.

We use essential cookies only to keep you signed in. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party cookies.

Privacy controls

• Public card. Your public card is tied to your profile and visible to anyone who visits it.
• Personalized cards. Designed for specific audiences. They don't appear on your profile and can optionally be separated from your identity. We never expose or distribute your card links. However, anyone with the link could view the card.
• Friends. hewwo has a built-in friends system for controlled sharing. You choose exactly which cards and entries each person or group can see, and removing someone instantly revokes their access. Your friend list is hidden by default.
• Blocking. Blocking a user immediately removes all shared data and prevents future contact.
• Account deletion. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings at any time. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all of your data is permanently removed.

Children

hewwo is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
